In 2017, she ventured into the world of Cashew processing, and for three years, her business thrived. However, the onset of the COVID-19 lockdown brought economic hardship, forcing her to shut down the cashew processing venture. FAQs about Goda Masala: Fragrant Vegetarian Masala

It is a hand-pounded, aromatic spice blend made from slow-roasted whole spices with a signature mildly sweet aftertaste. It is free from artificial additives and adulteration.

"Goda" means sweet in Marathi, referring to the masala's delicate balance of warm, aromatic spices with a pleasant sweet undertone.

It contains cinnamon, cloves, cumin, coriander, sesame seeds, bay leaves, desiccated coconut and the essential Dagad Phool (Black Stone Flower). Each spice is roasted separately before blending for maximum flavour.

Dagad Phool (Black Stone Flower) is the ingredient that defines authentic Goda Masala, imparting a uniquely rustic, earthy depth that cannot be replicated. Without it, the masala is simply not the same.

Unlike regular garam masala, Goda Masala contains desiccated coconut and Dagad Phool, giving it a uniquely sweet, floral character. It is also mildly spiced and specifically suited for vegetarian Maharashtrian dishes.

Goda Masala is lighter in colour and milder in flavour, while Kala Masala is more deeply roasted with fried onions, giving it a darker hue and bolder, smokier taste. Both are quintessential Maharashtrian masalas but serve different dish profiles.

It is essential for Masale Bhat, Bharli Vangi, Amti, Usal, and Misal. It also elevates everyday dals and sabzis with a distinctive Maharashtrian warmth and aroma.

Yes — it is 100% vegetarian and specifically crafted to enhance the flavours of vegetarian Maharashtrian cooking.

Yes — it is made entirely from natural whole spices with no artificial additives, preservatives or adulteration whatsoever.

Versatile masala that can be used in lieu of normal garam masala for astonishingly different flavors

As a Maharashtrian, I can say that this reminds me of my mother's Goda Masala made at home. Fragrant and very flavourful. It can be used in different ways to spice up dal, vegetables and meat. Use in place of regular garam masala to get a different and excellent taste.

Different and tasty

I was only familiar with south Indian masalas and condiments, so when I came across Maharashtrian masalas I wanted to give it a go. On an impulse I bought this masala and I don't regret my decision. It adds so much flavour to my everyday dishes that they become a treat. I will recommend it to all my friends.
