Ingredients:
For the Rice:
- 1 cup Aazol’s Unpolished Indrayani Rice
- 2 cups water
For the Tadka:
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
For the Spinach Puree:
- 1 cup spinach, blanched and blended
- ½ teaspoon salt
For Assembling:
- ½ cup grated cheese (mozzarella or processed cheese)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying
Method:
1. Prepare the Rice:
Rinse Aazol’s Unpolished Indrayani Rice and soak it for 30 minutes.
Cook the rice with water until soft and well-cooked. Let it cool.
2. Prepare the Tadka:
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
Add minced garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.
Mix in turmeric powder and red chilli powder. Stir well.
3. Prepare the Spinach Mixture:
Add spinach puree and salt to the tadka mixture.
Cook for 2-3 minutes until well combined.
4. Mix with Rice:
Add the cooked rice to the spinach mixture.
Mix thoroughly until well combined.
5. Shape the Balls:
Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into balls.
Make a small dent in each ball and stuff it with grated cheese.
Seal the balls properly.
6. Coat and Fry:
Roll the stuffed rice balls in breadcrumbs for a crispy coating.
Heat oil in a pan and deep-fry until golden brown and crispy.
7. Serve Hot:
